Event Analysis

STAKING: At PGT, we apply a strict and consistent staking strategy to every tip we publish. All published results on our site are calculated on the basis of one (1) unit per tip, unless otherwise stated. The actual dollar value of a unit (if any) is determined by each individual — it may be for a no-value bet with a friend, or $5 or $50. This methodology is for record-keeping and educational purposes only and is not a recommendation to bet or to bet in any particular way.
Competitor Tip Type Odds Units Result Rationale
Danny Walker Win 85-1 1.00 LOSS

THE SLEEPER 🙏:

PGA Puntacana Corales Championships
Punta Cana, Dominicon Republic
April 17th to 20th
Tee off @ 8:45pm AEST

I am on @ $100 from last night but some players I backed last night have drifted significantly by $20 to $50.

Danny Walker is one of those players now given the chance from the KORN FERRY TOUR & he is proving he deserves to be in the PGA, is form through 2024 over @ KORN was excellent with
25 events he actually finished Top 25 x 10 that is impressive along with 1 x 2nd + 2 x Top 10s.

ON THE BIGGER STAGE he has now gone around in 9 events in 2025 for 1 x Top 10 & 2 x Top 25s, he has made 5 CUTS and despite him missing the Cut (MC) in his last 3 which many players ranked Top 50 in Fed Ex did as well he had great momentum in February thru to March.

In those months he carded, -13, -8 & -9 and his T6 @ THE PLAYERS his best pay day yet, that event though he was only 3 shots off playoff & now US MASTERS Winner, RORY MCILROY.

He proved he can stick, his 66 on Day 3 means he is not scared of the BIG GUNS, line up is nowhere as strong.

He is perculating well despite 3 MC in his last 3, of note he did card a 65 @ HOUSTON OPEN on day 2 & a 68 on Day 2 @ VALERO OPEN, not enough to save his weekend.

IT SHOWS he is still capable to shoot below the average.

I keep saying it but a good clean start is essential especially with 132 players here & he does sit inside TOP 40 for TEE to GREEN & SG TOTAL- major significant stats.

No stranger to playing down here either he cut his teeth back in 2020 on the PGA LATINO AMERICA circuit and did good job there as well.

Andrew Putnam Top 20 4.7-1 1.00 LOSS

LEANING ON HIS CONSISTENCY 💪:

The 2 ANDREWS as I call them, both can be annoying as they offer so much but deliver little.

The other player is ANDREW NOVAK that I have given up on but PUTNAM has done something that 70% of this line up HAVE NOT.

He has WON ON PGA TOUR & before anyone asks why a player I am beating up to why I would put my hard earned $$$ on ?

Simple.

This is not aline up tht he typically rubs shoulders with, more hopefuls than Top 50 players in the World (OWGR) & in his whole PGA career he has been in 223 events since 2015 for 1 x WIN, 4 X 2nds & 14 x Top 5s along with 23 x Top 10s.

IN THIS LINE UP that is good.

His 2025 has been better than fair and he is aplayer that can regularly card between a -9 & -13 so I like him to place inside the TOP 20, of course I back him for the just in case he wins scenario but he does sit in a solid #30 in SG APPROACH to Greens.

This course suits the Big drivers but his green play is better than 60% of the field and he does sit in the Top 80 OFF the TEE to GREEN not for the event but the entire PGA ROSTER.

Henrik Norlander Top 10 6.8-1 1.00 LOSS

COURSE SUITS 💥:

I have been praising RICO HOEY and I have been on him in a few starts, the ? is he playing as well in 2025 as he did in the back end of 2024?

Jury is still out but he is a BIG hitter on the fairways & this course will favour those who drive long, his other skills are okay it is his short game on the green that needs improving.

SO I end up officially tipping the BIG SWEDE which we also did @ VALERO OPEN and like most they were there until the final day where 50% of the field shot a few over par.

HENRIK stuck to a +1 on Day 4 after 3 previous rounds of 72, 67, 73 & even BRIAN HARMAN w but he went +3 on Day 4, you will rarely see a winner card +3 on the final day and walk away with the Purse.

What the big swede brings is his ball striking into this, he is still yet to WIN on PGA and he has 3 x Top 25s in 3 of his last 4 events where he has made the CUT.

I wrote on the 3rd April for VALERO TEXAS OPEN-

HENRIK is the one flying under the radar as he ranks 106th on FedEx points yet is currently very very high in 4th in amajor stat for this course being SG -APRROACH the GREEN, 39th TEE to GREEN & overall in SG (strokes gained total) is 55th, I cannot recall a time ever in his career he is playing so well.

***He is now in the TOP 100 Fedex @ #92, he has maintained his SG TEE to GREEN @ #40 & is 4th SG APPROACH to GREEN.

WE NEED THE BIG LOAF to start well, this course suits him better than VALERO.

I am leaning on him more to Top 10 & Top 20 @ $3.65 is more probable than him winning but this event is wide open & I mean wide open.
