Event Analysis

The Brabazon course @ The Belfry was designed by Peter Alliss & Dave Thomas and came to prominence when it hosted the Ryder Cup.

The parkland course is a Par 72 measuring 7253 yards.

It is unrecognisable from its Ryder Cup days, with the 100s of saplings now fully grown. The 2 most memorable holes are the risk & reward Par 4 10th, which can be reached from the Tee & the brutal finishing hole, a Par 4 calling for a drive over water and an approach over more water to a 3 tier green.

Past Winners:

2015 x Matt Fitzpatrick
2016 x Alex Noren
2017 x Paul Dunne
2018 x Eddie Pepperell
2019 x Marcus Kinhult
2020 x Renato Paratore
2021 x Richard Bland
2022 x Thorbjorn Olesen
2023 x Daniel Hillier
2024 x Niklas Norgaard

This week we have selected-

6 x Players for DPWT-

In 3 Markets total spend $18

= 6 x Players x 3 Markets = $18 (based on every $1 dollar) x your stake or Multiplier.

Example = $10 Punter will be investing $30 on each Player ($180 in total on 6 x Players in 3 x Markets).

The goal is simple, what we spend we try and at least cover what we spend on each Player.

The formula or our method is generally on Players that will be around +$3 to Top 20 which will cover our total spend of $3 on that Player.

It is our formula that is as low risk as we can be.

This has worked very well & very profitable in medium to long term punting, We have a positive ROI that confirms this.

STAKING: At PGT, we apply a strict and consistent staking strategy to every tip we publish. All published results on our site are calculated on the basis of one (1) unit per tip, unless otherwise stated. The actual dollar value of a unit (if any) is determined by each individual — it may be for a no-value bet with a friend, or $5 or $50. This methodology is for record-keeping and educational purposes only and is not a recommendation to bet or to bet in any particular way.

Calum Hill Win 190-1 1.00 LOSS

HORSES 4 COURSES:

This Scottsman has long been on my rotattion of players along with fellow countrymen CONNOR SYME & GRANT FORREST, the latter I missed recently as I was focusing on PGA.

Since 2021 there is only a small pool of players who have played in 3 or more events at this course & HILL has played in 4 of the last 5 @ Belfry.

2020 x T9

2021 x T8

2022 x DNP

2023 x T4

2024 x T53

HILL is better tham most when it comes to PUTTING, that is his Best SG: Stat & his sits in the Top 20 in all Putting metrics such as SG, Putts per round, 1 Putt & finally 3 x PUTT avoidance (9th overall).

I am relying on him when winning the JOBURG Open back in March of 2025 as his last win was back in 2021 but he has proven results on this course and despi not being a known BIG hitter of the ball he has better accuracy with his Driver, here he only has to find FAIRWAYS & he can pick up shots with his reliable Putting.

Confirming I am relying on his Course history where he has proven he can mix it despite not being In Top 50 in SG: OTT etc etc.

Betfair Win @ $190

Top 10 @ $16.50 (Not much in Pool as usual this far out)

Top 20 @ $6.40

Top 10 16.5-1 1.00 LOSS
Top 20 6.4-1 1.00 LOSS
Jayden Schaper Win 170-1 1.00 LOSS

This 24 yr old from South Africa is yet to Win his 1st event since turning PRO, that was the same as last years winner, Nikklas Norgaard.

Unlike Norgaard SCHAPER has been in much better HOT form and really is knocking on the door to win so I have included the 24 yr old as this event has a habit of 1st time TOR winners.

With 8 PAYDAYS in his last 12 events with 6 x Top 10s other than event winners he arrives in good current form & He was 10th @ Italian Open with -7 ( above him HILL & COUVRA) but his 3rd the week prior @ KLM Open he beat 95% of the field & his T5 in AURA he proved he could match it consistently across all 4 days 67, 66, 67 & 67 (-13).

REITAN anothey Young Gun who has already won on Tour was -17 & he shot a course record 60, not wrong a 60, REITAN is a future star and I made mention of him last week @ DANISH OPEN but he is also only $29 to in this, SCHAPER unlike REITAN is yet to Win but he does play a simialr style & has no 60 to his name (not many do) REITAN has shown me he can also card a terrible day which he did again last week with a 74 (The Avg was 70).

Anyway SCHAPER does sit a respectable 29th across all DPWT players in SG: OTT, also sits in Top 10 for Par 4 scoring & Top 20 for Par 3 Scoring, All I ask this week is a consistent 4 days play.

Betfair Win @ $170

Top 10 @ $8.80 (The usual BS as not much in pools)

John Parry Win 75-1 1.00 LOSS

I was surprised this 6 x DP Tour winner was such good overs.

IMO I would have both Haotong & Parry ahead of Canter in Win markets so they obviously appear as Value to me.

PARRY has cashed in 10 of his last 11 events with only 1 CUT being @ PGA Champs (a MAJOR) back in May, he did compete well @ another Major in The OPEN when T16 that was against most of the Top 50 in OWGR.

Known for his Iron play (like HAOTONG) he does sit in 4th in SG :APG (Approach the Green) with on Avg picking up +1 strok per round, this could add up well here this week.

His Putter can let him down when all his other SG: Stats are positive but I am bouyed by his overall 15th in SG: Total where he is proven to pick up on Avg 1.35 Strokes per round.

Again I have him ahead of CANTER, in saying that all 3 as mentioned in this summary are IMO overs for this.

Of note he has ONLY played this course once in the last 5 years for a T57 in 2023, NOT CONCERNED as he is playing some very good golf of late including a 3rd @ NEXO Open in Scotland where most had troubles with the LINKS Course &nly 9 x Players finished Under Par.

Parry went -3 for the 72 holes on what was a difficult 4 days for the majority of the field.

Betfair Win @ $75

Laurie Canter Win 46-1 1.00 LOSS

I decided not to back up on a few from last week.

This Englishman currently sits in a career high 2nd in SG: OTT (Off the Tee) and is in front of last weeks winner Marco Penge (3rd in SG: OTT) along with Twins Nicolai & Rasmus and this course favours those Off the Tee.

Also CANTER sist a high 14th SG: Total @ +1.37 SG (Strokes Gained) along with his ranking of

15th Overall in Par 5 scoring (+4.59 shots) with on Avg 3.70 Birdies Per Round.

Delving into his 2025 stats he sits a career high 11th in SG: GIR (Greens in Regulation) with a high 71.75% of Greens found, he runs pretty much evens in Putting but we saw him Win back in February 2025 with similar stats (-0.25 in SG-Putting) @ Bahrain Championships @ -14.

That Win saw him consistent over all 4 days with scoring @ 68, 69, 68, 69 it was also a nice purple patch of form as he was 3rd in the DUBAI Hero Classic prior to the Win then the 1st event after his win, 1 month after he finished 2nd in SAR Open.

He arrives here nice & fresh after playing 3 x events in July 2025 for handy results of a 7th @ BMW International, 34th @ Genesis SCOTTISH Open and CUT @ The OPEN, Taking into account the last 2 were against the Worlds Best but he did have positives SG (Strokes Gained in 2 of those 3).

Betfair Win @ $46

Top 20 @ $3.25 I decided not to back up on a few from last week.

BEST BET 🏆:

I selected HAOTONG @ The 3M Open @ the end of July, he went around @ $150-

Some of what I wrote-

********************************************

Also surrounding this event he went 4 x straight Top 10s with T9 in Singapore, T4 in China, T2 in Turkey & T4 @ Soudal he then went a bit cold in his 3 DPWT events finishing

T27, T60, T38 which not atrocious right ( in fields between 154 & 175 players). He had me worried missing the CUT @ Genesis Open in Scotland were he still has positive SG (Strokes Gained) in both SG: OTT (Off the Tee) & SG: Putting both + it was his negative strokes in SG: Approach & SG: ARG (Around the Green).

He proved that his usually reliable APPROACH game was back on track last week when a T4 on a course that just did not suit his Fairway driving.

Last week and I will rely on this because @ The OPEN he was positive in all SG: Stats.

**************************************************

Without the majority of the Top 50 in OWGR here he still is in the Top 5 across all DPWT players such as-

1st x Par 4 Scoring (3.92)

1st x Birdies (4.31 per round)

3rd x Stroke Average (69.63) Incredibly good

HAOTONG sits in 8th in SG: Total but he brings a 1st in 2025 along with 5 x Top 10s & 6 x Top 25s.

Generally a good safe beginner which will appreciate most of the Worlds elite not being here.

Betfair Win @ $60

Top 10 @ $5.70

Top 20 @ $3.45

Top 10 5.7-1 1.00 WIN
Top 20 3.45-1 1.00 WIN
Martin Couvra Win 125-1 1.00 LOSS

VERY CONSISTENT:

Another player that will appreciate comign back to the DPWT as he was thrown in the Deep end @ the Genesis + The Open, still this 22yr old will only be better for the experience.

His previous events on this Tour have yielded him-

8 x Top 10s from 17 events on DPWT since December 2024- 11 from 17 Paydays.

Including 1 x 1st @ Turkish Open, 2nd @ Italian Open (end of June) with a stack of those 8 x Top 10s being 4th & 5th.

One of the many young guns coming through but COUVRA does sit Top 20 in BIRDIES per round

11th on Tour with 4.10 per round, 16th in Par 4 scoring along with a 34th in Par 5 scoring with 4.64 on Avg.

I NOTE this as Important as it also shows up in BOGEY AVOIDANCE, so by at least scoring Pars & we know he is scoring at least 4 birdies per round this means his Stroke Avg is a decent 70.42, currently ranked #19 on Tour.

Very comparable with LI HAOTONG who is an incredible 69.63 (3rd) but breaking 70 is good anywhere.

So generally what we can expect like most of the 20 yr olds on Tour they can come out humming from the get go, Most are Agressive which I prefer and he has proven his mettle in 2025, he is playing better than 50% of this line up.
